MILAN CAPITAL OF BURLESQUE 2012

The most important festival and italian prize for the international Burlesque, has arrived at its second edition. The audience, coming from all Italy, has decreed a huge success beyond any expectation. The winners of the first edition that are still keeping the titles are: Kitty Bang Bang ( Best performer) Anna Fur Laxis ( First runner up) Trixee Sparkles ( Most comic act). For the 2012 edition a theatrical context has been chosen, the MBA will be held on 30 & 31 march at Teatro Elfo Puccini, right in Milan’s city centre.They come from all over the world, the selected performers that will be on stage at the MBA that will compete to get the prestigious prizes and titles:
Best performer 2012, First Runner up and Most comic act. The titles will be awarded by an authoritative jury headed by Miss. Angie Pontani. But not only burlesque, a various and rich programme with special guests: Mr Matt Hennem, an highly talended juggler from London with his jaw dropping act The Crystal Ball, The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret, a troupe of five performers from Finland, boylesque with Mr Alan Debevoise, live music with the virtuoso of piano Antonio Sorgentone with his band from Rome, and a special performance by Miss Angie Pontani. The previews: A special selections of scenes from the independent canadian movie” The Burlesque Assasins” by director Jonathan Joffe, will be screened exclusively for the MBA, during the event will also be presented Burlesque Stories, the first ever produced comic / magazine about burlesque, an idea born from a collaboration between Les Vedettes and La Scuola del Fumetto di Milano ( Milan’s comic school) that will be available in newsstands and on I-pad from October 2012. Daytime workshops will take place in the theatre, organized by the Burlesque School of Milano, headed by Miss. Mitzi Von Wolfgang.
